Get ready to polka in the streets—Cleveland's biggest spring bash is back!
On Monday, April 21, 2025, the Gordon Square Arts District will transform into a vibrant celebration of Polish-American culture as Dyngus Day Cleveland marks its 15th anniversary.
More than 45,000 revelers are expected to fill Detroit Avenue between West 58th and West 69th for a day packed with music, dancing, food, and traditions that date back centuries. What started as a niche cultural event has grown into one of the city's most beloved annual festivals—and one of the largest Dyngus Day celebrations in the country.
This year’s festivities run from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and feature a lineup of live polka and brass bands. Fan favorites like the Chardon Polka Band, Fred Ziwich, Ed Rodick, and the Da Land Brass Band will be joined by acts like Die Ünprönöüncëäblës and Bob Earl and the Polish All-Stars. Two full stages will be rocking all day, offering a soundtrack that invites everyone to grab a partner and hit the dance floor—right on the pavement.
Of course, no Dyngus Day is complete without the food. Festival-goers can indulge in Eastern European staples like handmade pierogi, savory kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, and sweet paczki. Polish beers and traditional spirits will also be flowing from local vendors and bars throughout the district. If you’re feeling competitive, jump into the ever-popular pierogi eating contest—or simply cheer on the contenders from the sidelines.
One of the highlights of the day will be the crowning of Miss Dyngus Day, a spirited tradition that honors pride, performance, and Polish heritage. And for those who love a little chaos, don’t forget to bring your squirt guns and pussy willows. Śmigus-Dyngus customs are alive and well in Cleveland, with playful water fights breaking out throughout the day.
Beyond Gordon Square, the Dyngus Day spirit will be alive across Greater Cleveland. The Polish Village in Berea kicks off its own celebration at 9:00 AM with live music and door prizes. Forest City Brewery is tapping a special Polish ale and serving themed food all day. Westel’s in Willoughby joins the party at 3:00 PM with a high-energy bash featuring water wars and pussy willows galore.
Whether you're Polish or just Polish for the day, Dyngus Day promises laughter, culture, and unforgettable community spirit. So, grab your red and white, get your polka on, and join the fun this April 21.
General admission tickets are $14 and provide access to all performances and entertainment zones.
